HES Technician | Marathon Oil | Gillette, WY
The position will provide technical assistance and coaching on HES
related issues for the Powder River Basin coal bed methane operations.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required as the employee
will be required to interact with the PRBU HES Professionals in Gillette
and Houston, PRBU field employees, contractors, and contractor
management. The position will be located in Gillette, Wyoming.
- Behavior Based Safety Program
- Champion STOP For Each Other program
- Evaluate data for trends and leading indicators.
- Assist with the development of corrective plans to address gaps identified by STOP data analysis.
- Provide MOCs STOP For Each Other training to employees, contractors and supervisors.
- Coach to maintain a high degree of participation throughout the workforce and to ensure program participants perform high quality safety observations.
- Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of monthly safety meetings
- On-site representation for major or high risk projects
- Coordinate on-site audits with contractor HES representatives.
- Assist with and audit implementation of HES-related policies to assure compliance.
- Assist with incident and near miss investigations. Participate in vPSI process for corrective actions.
- Maintain Audit tracking database
- Maintain various records such as spill reports, accident reports, near miss reports, etc.
- Maintain MSDS information
- Contractor Safety
- Assist with pre-job safety meetings
- Trade data, understand contractor's business, hazards, and opportunities for improvement
- Maintain site specific orientation process
- Attend contractor safety meetings
- Perform audits and coach contractors on identification of at-risk behaviors
- Training
- Coordinate certain HES training and maintenance of required records.
- JSA's
- Will actively support, champion and participate in the JSA process.
- Will assist field operations by coaching and auditing on the JSA process.
- HES Standards
- Will provide expertise to field operations with regard to
various HES standards i.e. Confined Space Entry, Safe Work Permitting,
Hot Work, Excavation Safety, Fall Prevention, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic computer knowledge required. Competence required in
Microsoft applications Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Also
competence in database data entry and retreival.
- Five years of experience in oil and gas production
operations is required.
